Not really showing the face makeup today. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary except wear less concealer, which renders my skin unworthy of photographing.

A few days ago, my work celebrated Administrative Assistants Appreciation Day. I had no idea this even existed, but apparently for the past couple years they have given out spa days to the receptionists in the company.
This year they decided to get us MAC Pro Lash, MAC Love Nectar Lip Gloss, and a $50 gift card to Nordstroms.
I'll take THAT over a spa day any day. This is something tangible!
So tomorrow I'll be frolicking through Nordstroms with gift card in hand, thanks to the person who created the coolest work holiday ever.

Because I've stalked so many makeup blogs for so long, there is no way I could have stayed ignorant of Fyrinnae Cosmetics for very long. I've always looked at the website, willing myself to buy the colors I wanted, but the thought of buying them online, without seeing the colors in person made me really nervous.
A couple weeks ago I bought 5 samples ($2 each, can I get high five?).
Because their home page warns you to give almost a month for them to put your order together and ship it, I wasn't expecting it for a while. However, it only took them about  week to get my order to me.
Let me just tell you, I ran through that post office like a rabid dog. I ripped open the package right there in the middle of the parking lot with wide eyes.

This tissue paper is too adorable to toss. I don't know what I'll ever use it for, but I'm keeping it.

Got a free sample of Eternal Innocence!

Swatches to come!

Review: Benefit: The Porefessional

First off, I'd like to say that I've never really used a face primer of any sort. I've never felt the need to I guess. I've used them, but not for long periods of time. So I had no expectations for this product. All I knew was when I tried it on my hand in Ulta it smelled good, it make the little patch of skin look pretty good and the reviews I read online were mostly good.

Having used it a few times now, here is my list of Pros and Cons:

Pros:
-I love the way it makes my skin feel (at first)
-My makeup doesn't start sliding as fast.
-I do notice a bit of a difference in the appearance of my pores.
-Goes on smoothly/easy to apply/doesn't clump up.
-I like that it's translucent

Cons:
-This is a ridiculously tiny tube for the price.
-Towards to middle of the day, even if I touch up with powder, my skin starts to feel heavy. I feel like I'm wearing overly caked-on makeup and I can't wait to get home and wash it off.
-The effect it has on more pores is noticeable, but not enough to really impress me, and certainly not worth $30. There are so many better things I could do with that money.

So in the end, I do like the product but I probably won't buy it again after finishing this tube. The price is ridiculous for a broke ass girl like me. I'll find something cheaper, or just go back to not using primer at all!

Office makeup. Pretty boring.

This is my awkward "trying to drive, smile and be happy about commuting" look.
Usually I tone my makeup down with primarily neutral colors for work.
Florescent lighting at my desk+ working in 99.9% male dominated office + very little time in the morning = plain, uncolorful peepers.
